How Do I Complete Identity Verification?

Identity verification is required for every Skorppio account. Click the blue banner at the top of your portal to start the Stripe flow. You will need a government ID and a real-time selfie.

How to Complete Identity Verification

When you first log in to your customer portal, a blue banner appears at the top of the page that reads "Identity verification via Stripe is required to enable account purchasing." Click the link in that banner to open a Stripe browser window and complete the process. You will need an official government-issued ID and the ability to take a selfie in real time.

  1. Click the link in the blue Identity Verification banner at the top of the portal.

  2. A secure Stripe browser window opens and walks you through the steps.

  3. Upload or photograph your official government-issued ID when prompted.

  4. Take a real-time selfie when prompted.

  5. Submit the verification. Stripe returns you to your portal, where your status will update once review completes.

Identity Verification Is Required for All Accounts

Every Skorppio account must complete identity verification. There are no exceptions, no manual workarounds, and no alternate approval methods. Accounts that have not completed identity verification cannot transact with Skorppio — you will not be able to place orders until verification is complete.

Why Skorppio Requires Identity Verification

Identity verification protects both you and Skorppio. We use it to:

  • Prevent fraud — make sure the person opening the account is who they say they are.

  • Verify identity — confirm the legal name on the account matches the person operating it.

  • Verify physical address — confirm the address associated with the account is legitimate.

What You Need to Have Ready

  • An official government-issued ID — for example, a driver's license, passport, or state ID.

  • A camera-enabled device — to take a real-time selfie that Stripe matches against your ID.

Tip: Completing this on a mobile device is the fastest and most seamless experience. The phone's camera handles both the ID capture and the live selfie in one continuous flow.

Checking Your Verification Status

Your identity verification status is shown under the Account tab in your customer portal. Once verification is complete, the blue banner at the top of the portal will no longer appear and your account will be enabled for purchasing.

Powered by Stripe Identity

Skorppio uses Stripe Identity to perform identity verification. The process runs inside a secure Stripe-hosted window. Your ID and selfie are handled by Stripe under their identity verification service.

By using this service, you agree to Skorppio's privacy policy along with Stripe's privacy policy for identity verification services. Both policies cover how your identity documents and selfie data are stored, processed, and retained.
