What Happens to My Data When I Close My Account?

When you close your Skorppio account, your portal access is disabled. As a B2B rental company, we retain business records like rental agreements and invoices for the period required by law. Hardware drives are wiped to NIST 800-88 standards.

Your Account Access

When your account is closed, your login is disabled and you lose access to the customer portal, including the Orders, Billing, and Documents tabs. Download any invoices or documents you want to keep before you request closure.

Records We Keep and Why

Skorppio is a B2B equipment rental company, so closing your account does not erase your business records. We retain the following for the period required by law and our Terms of Service:

  • Rental agreements and contracts — kept for legal, audit, and dispute-resolution purposes.

  • Invoices and payment records — kept for tax and accounting compliance.

  • Identity and verification records — kept to meet our verification and fraud-prevention obligations.

We do not sell your data. Retained records are used only to meet legal, tax, and contractual obligations.

Data on Rented Hardware

Any data on drives from hardware you rented is handled separately from your account. Every returned drive is wiped to NIST 800-88 standards as a standard part of the return process. See What Is Skorppio's Data Wiping and Security Procedures?

Getting a Copy of Your Records

Download your invoices and documents from the Billing and Documents tabs before you request closure. If you need records after your account is closed, contact our team and we will help.

Data Privacy Requests

If you have a specific data-privacy request, contact our team and we will handle it in line with applicable law. Records we are legally required to keep — such as invoices and signed agreements — may be retained even after a closure request.
